Camp Sweet Camp

We camped in an amazing spot. It was a wonderland for the girls. In fact they loved it so much they probably would have been content to just stay at camp and explore than going elsewhere. Here was our camp set up. I forgot to pack a few important things  (hatchets, salt & pepper, vegetable oil) but somehow we survived(thanks to our genius Super Scout Steve).

This is where the girls were dying to go as soon as they woke up each morning. They were so tired after exploring Goblin Valley and hiking Little Wild Horse Canyon but as soon as we got back to camp they were off climbing rocks and playing in the sand.

While the kids were playing Steve caught a lizard we named George.

Here the girls are telling a very frightened George goodbye.

Hayley woke up a 1:00 AM and threw up all over her bedding. Luckily we had an extra sleeping bag. It wouldn't spread out right so we had to trade sleeping bags again. I think we finally got back to sleep around 3:00 AM. Never a dull moment.

Emily and Abby slept in the back of the truck. Which would be perfect if we stayed at camp the whole time because they had to keep folding up their cots when we went somewhere.

Emily is going to girls camp for the first time this year. Steve taught her how to build a one match fire. She did it even though she was afraid of lighting the match. He had her build a fire again Saturday night.
