Friday July 29, 2011

The girls and I headed up to Heber Valley Camp to the McBride Family Reunion.
We stayed in cabins that slept 16 people.

We got there just in time for dinner.
Lindley and Hayley just wanted to go to bed.
But everyone was up until midnight.

It was fun to sit around the fire and hear Layne relate stories about
Thomas McBride and other pioneer stories.
Layne is a great storyteller.

The kids all loved the bunk beds.

Tonight I went to my Mom's house to learn how to make apricot jam with my Gramsies.
We started with 1/2 bushel of apricots.

Followed Gramsies instructions carefully.

Ran to the store for extra supplies.
And plugged along until we used up all the apricots.

Homemade goodness.

Apricot Jam

1/4 bushel of apricots quartered and pureed.
2 cans crushed pineapple with juice.
4 oranges peeled and pureed and 1 orange zest.
4  1/2 cups sugar
2 TBL butter
1 pkg. pink box pectin

Put 6 cups prepared fruit in pan.
Mix pectin and 1/4 cup sugar in a bowl then slowly add to prepared fruit.
Add butter. Stirring constantly.
Bring to rolling boil over medium high heat.
Slowly add remaining 4 1/4 cup sugar.
Bring to rolling boil for 1 minute.
Put in prepared jars and seal.

Wednesday July 27, 2011

Today we went to have lunch with my friend Mindi and her little Izadora!
She was adorable and my girls had a great time in her nice backyard.
Did I get my camera out?  NO!
My Mom picked this cute shirt up for me at the Rodeo.

Tuesday July 26, 2011

I love free fun in the sun.

I heard about a splash pad nearby and I had to check it out.

So glad we did.
The kids had a great time.

And I didn't have to pack all the floatation devises.

Monday July 25, 2011

Love the parade on the 24th 25th.
The kids got a little candy.
Lindley was in heaven if there were horses.

Hayley, Abby, Kami, Lindley, Emily,
Joey, Gage and Kandyce.

Standing up for the FLAG.
Learned some flag etiquette from Delene.

Look how still they are holding.

Gramsies and Parker

Love all the horse art in Ogden.

Sunday July 24, 2011

There is only one good thing about 1:00 church.

Time for waffles.
These ones have crumbled sausage in them.
YUM!

Saturday July 23, 2011

Today while Steve was busy getting ready for Scout Camp
I was busy trying to keep 4 girls out of the way.
After lunch we played at the park trying to wear out Lindy Lou.
No such luck.
So the girls played in the pool.
Have I said what a great investment this has been.

Steve has been busy making shirts, neck kerchiefs and aprons for Scout Camp.
Troop shirts and Patrol shirts.

We headed to Grandma Shelley's to celebrate Steve's birthday.
We had homemade ICE CREAM and cake.
Then Dustin put on an awesome FIREWORK show for us.

Friday July 22, 2011

Today we had to hand in our Tony's Pizza orders.
We decided since we would be in Ogden to have our
American Girl Doll Party.

Lindley and Hayley

Emily and Abby

Kami and Kandyce

Gagey

Here is the fabulous food.
Mini Corn dogs, Raspberries, chips, juice and jello(see picture of Gagey)

Kandyce and Kami made these fun mini cupcakes.

While the corn dogs were cooking I made some folders for the AG dolls out of Duct Tape.
After lunch we didn't see or hear much from the big girls.
Yes this totally qualifies as a party.

Thursday July 21, 2011

Monday we couldn't find the remote to the DVD player.
Wednesday night when we turned the power button off
on the TV it disappeared inside the TV.
Tonight I went and purchased a universal remote
so we can not only turn the TV off and on,
but also work the DVD player.
Amazing, now if we can just keep track of the remote
LIFE IS GOOD.

Emily perfecting her front handspring.

Tuesday July 19, 2011

I dropped these 3 cuties off to see YOGI BEAR.

The took these 2 crazies to the mall to play.

When Dad got home we showered him with birthday gifts.
And a mostly clean house.
He couldn't wait for us to put the chairs back before he opened his gifts.

A Camping Cot just in time for Scout Camp.

A new pillow.

Abby got him new AC for the GEO.

Emily always like to get her Dad some new tunes.

As always we got Dad some new socks. It always makes him happy.
Then Auntie Leen and Uncle Craig came to watch the kids
while Steve and I went to HP7 Part 2.
It was REALLY good.
When we came home we had GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE
and ice cream.

Monday July 18, 2011

Tonight for FHE we are going to watch.
HP The Deathly Hallows Part 1.
So I made Basilisk Pizza ( I got the idea from here)
served with Butterbeer.

Yep that's my messy kitchen in the background.  Keepin it real.

It was really good pizza.  Definitely making that again soon.

For Movie Treats we had
Popcorn (boring)
Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (Jelly Belly's)
and Chocolate ( To help us recover from the Dementors)

All set!
Don't worry the little ones were just there for the candy,
glow stick wands and to torture their Dad by yelling out spells
to distract everyone from the movie.
I did a little magic and took them for a ride
and  cast a sleeping spell on them.

Tomorrow we will see how it ends...

TRADITION! TRADITION! TRADITION!
After a very eventful day at church we headed up to the
Weber State Fireworks (a family tradition.)
Because Steve would rather be with his family and miserable
instead of lonely at home he came with us.

My Mom made Rice Krispy Watermelon.

It was really cute and tangy.

Steve brought a football to play catch with the girls.

Abby and Steve took a picture of a dragonfly hanging out in a tree.

I got to sit and visit with my Mom and Gramsies.

The kids had fun with their cousins and glow sticks.

What a good sport Steve is to suffer through this FAMILY TRADITION.
