Thanksgiving got off to a bad start.
Hayley's finger was smashed in the hinge side of the bathroom door.
The two other girls involved were very heartbroken.
Steve drove like a madman to the ER.
Leaving me behind because I tried to put some clothes on first.
(I just got out of the shower.)
I followed with the camera, some I.D. and a form of payment.
Hayley was very brave and really loved the Winnie the Pooh stickers
she got after she had her finger x-rayed.
She was really into the Tom and Jerry cartoons that were on TV.
She only got upset when we uncovered her finger.
I went home before they numbed her finger and stitched her up
to get the girls and myself ready.
Steve stayed for the fun part.
After her fingers were numb she fell asleep.
She slept through the cleaning and stitching part.
Hayley loved her purple band-aid and sang a song about it.
Here are four of the reasons I am so thankful to be a mom.
This is the first time in 3 years we have all been together.
It is so hard when someone is missing.
We love you Cory!
We played Minute to Win It.
FACE THE COOKIE
Ally won the first round.
BREAKFAST SCRAMBLE was a lot harder than you would think.
TISSUE PULL
It was good clean messy fun.
SUCK IT UP
Dustin was a maniac.
SHARP SHOOTER.
Apparently we haven't taught our kids how to shoot a rubber band.
They got in a lot of practice later on each other later.
DEFYING GRAVITY
Nate was the only one to make it past the minute mark.
Everyone had fun trying this one out.
Emily showed the girls how to make button bracelets.
They all really loved it.
They all picked out their buttons.
The older girls helped the little ones.
Then we headed home to change Hayley's bandage.
It was no easy task.
I think they needed at least one more stitch.
If not relaxing it was definitely memorable.
So thankful for the family I spent time with today,
the family I didn't get to see today
and the family who are no longer with us.
