Spider Buns

Lindley was sooo sad when she couldn't wear her costume to Preschool today so we had to come up with something fun to do with her hair. I've seen the bun with legs before but I decided to add some googly eyes. I wish I had some bobby pins to glue the eyes to but I don't. So I improvised and just bent a pipe cleaner in half.

I think it turned out pretty cute.

Abby wanted one too. Her hair was too thick for a "flower bun" so we dug out the bun form from dance recital days.  I think this is the first time I used it the right way.

I wonder how scary this spider will look by the end of the school day?

I tried to talk Hayley into to a spider bun but she wasn't having it. She just wanted a regular princess bun.

Primary Program
Abby did a great job.
Lindley was very entertaining.
The teacher next to her was laughing along with me and Emily.
Just a few things Lindley did during the program. Picked her nose and ate it, played with and fixed the girl's hair that sat next to her, sang to the teacher next to her(not her teacher), waved to me several times, sang her little heart out with lots of facial expressions and at the very end had her shoes off and was biting her toe nails. She was very quiet and sat in one place so I guess that will do.
Love my girls.
Emily kind of missed being in the program this year.

Family Pictures 2012

We did family pictures on Saturday.

As always there is a lot of drama.

We forgot to put Colton in the first couple of pictures(the ones that turned out the best).

When we got home I was pretty sure it was a waste of time and energy.

But  the more I look at them the more they grow on me.

I am so blessed.

UEA Day 2

Friday we went to Frightmares with the Christensens.

Scary Straw Maze.

UEA Day 1

L had her Preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
She had fun picking out her pumpkin.

H found the perfect size pumpkin.

Decided to put myself in the picture no matter what I think I look like.
One day my girls will be happy I handed over the camera.

Just had to get a picture with the tractor in it.

Ran home and grabbed E and A fresh from the shower and ran to the library.
Story time is H's "Kid School".

Decided to make a day of it and get some SQUARE PUMPKINS.
I remember this being a special treat when I was a kid.
I kind of maybe forced E to get one.
A is still totally happy and excited by it.
Love my beautiful girls!

E is definitely growing up she is no longer embarrassed when I tell other kids to stop doing something. She was also irritated by all the moms with their faces in their phones instead of watching their kids.

Halloween Decorations 2012

No matter what the season I can never bring myself to put away my Christus or change out my Picture of Christ.
This year I added glitter pumpkins from Walmart. and eyeballs from the Dollar Tree.
Everything else I already had.

Decided to do a Harry Potter corner with the decorations we used for Emily's birthday party.
I did add the big spider also from Walmart.
It is not always there.
Hayley likes to play with her spider.

Sensory bin.
I got a package of orange, purple, green and black toys from Walmart.
There are skeletons, bats, spiders and centipedes.
I added leftover eyeballs from Dollar tree.
Halloween Little People, pumpkins and ice tray from last year.
Mixed dried beans/peas from last year.
Steve is going to go insane by the end of the month with the beans all over the floor.

Shirts and bows from last year.
Yea for big T-Shirts.
Sadly Emily and Abby outgrew their shirts.

Hayley had a melt down because she wanted orange bows on her ghostie.
I couldn't find the green bowed spider for Lindy Lou.

The Cabin

Steve took Friday off and we took the girls out of school and headed up to the cabin.

This is my view.

We were told the stove didn't work so Steve took a look at it as soon as we arrived.

After removing this bird it worked just fine.

The girls love playing by the lake.
Lindley is getting pretty good at writing her name.

Check out the medicine cabinet.

Getting out of the rain.
I tried to keep them quiet with big lollipops.

Steve hard at work sanding the cabin.

Playing in the sand.

Best Friends after a big argument.

Emily put the 99 piece puzzle together.

In the morning the girls were really excited to see deer tracks.

Emily trying to break her legs.
Emily- "The key is to bend your legs Mom."
After the jump.
Emily-"Ouch my feet really  hurt."

As we walked back to the cabin for the 10th time to go potty Hayley says to me.
"Mom, see all these cabins. They're weird. Our cabin looks good."

Abby pounding rust off of nails and screws she has found.

Hayley building rock towers.

Steve taking a break and Emily pampering him.

It was a pretty relaxing trip for me.
I read, napped and walked to and from the beach with the kids.
We took easy to make meals with little clean up.
The kids had fun and Steve worked his guts out.
