Lego Birthday Party

We survived another birthday party! I had so much fun coming up with the decorations! I found a free Lego man printable here. I made some Legos out of paper, tissue boxes and Emily made me some from bags.

I found instructions on how to build Lego letters to spell out ABBY. I love the way it turned out and it was so easy.

I made Abby a Lego Man shirt, Lego girl necklace, Lego bracelet and Lego hair clip. She looked adorable and was so happy with everything I made. We played Guess How Many Legos and Lego Toss (I didn't get any pictures but the kids seemed to like it.)

Then it was time for presents.

Abby got some really cute clothes, duct tape and some FRIENDS LEGOS.

I found this cute Lego candy mold on AMAZON and had fun making these fun cupcake toppers.

Make a Wish!

Here is Abby with her cousins.

I was not a very nice Mom most of the day trying to get ready for the birthday party. Hopefully my kids will only remember how fun it was at the party and not how mean their Mom was before the party. I'm wondering if I should just do cake and ice cream without all the hoopla but it would take all the fun out of it for me too.

6th Grade is almost over...

I can't believe this girl is almost in Jr. High. She is so smart, pretty and funny. She loves to talk your ear off and gets mad when I tell her to stop talking and get something done. I'm going to have to send her to follow Amy around so she can show her how to multitask.

Emily had to do a report on a country. She chose Ecuador and did a news report format. She invited a guest speaker who had spent 2 years in Ecuador to help her. He said she did a great job, her teacher said she did a great job and Emily told me she did really good. I'm really not surprised she did well. She is smart and she works really hard.

Yesterday I got to go see the 6th grade play "JOUST". Emily could have replaced anyone who had a speaking part (she had all the lines memorized) but didn't really want to. Grandma Rochelle and Grandma Shelley came to the night performance. I'm glad I went in the morning I could see better and get some pictures without too much chaos.

Mother's Day

I had to work so I missed out on the fun Saturday night with Steve's family.

Family Favorite Salad. Craisins, cheese, broccoli and bacon with poppy seed dressing.

The weather was perfect. We sat outside on my Gramsies patio while the kids ran around.

Taking Daddy To The Treehouse

Steve is changing jobs so he has some time off this week. We decided to let Daddy in on some of the fun we have while he is slaving away. I let the girls decide where to take him. The had fun learning letters in the schoolhouse.

Trying to hit the target with the parachute drop.

Lindy Lou and I put together the arch...

while Daddy went over the basics of chess with Hayley.

Then we headed to Pizzeria. YUM!

Softball

Softball season has started. Lindley found a new talent at Abby's practice. Little Monkey.

Emily decided she didn't want to play this year so it is just 2 nights a week. I love watching Abby play. Whenever she does something well she gets this huge grin on her face. She loves being cheered on.

Abby has had some good hits already this season and has made a few plays as well. I can see that the girls are starting to understand the game even if they can't execute it perfectly. It's fun to watch them grow.

Little Wild Horse Canyon Hike

The hike started out pretty difficult. Dad had to find us a new way down and then help us one by one down.

We found a nice shady spot for some lunch.

And then we were off.

Emily and Abby were awesome hikers.

When we let Hayley out for a bit she was so funny. She loved hiking but her little legs just were too slow to stay out of the pack for long.

Lindley hiked 99.5% of the hike all by herself. She would get mad if you offered to help her. If Emily and Abby could do it then so could she.

Once we got into the slot canyons it was all fun. There is usually a least one tragedy on the hike and I bit the dust at the very end trying to jump a little too far down. I'll gladly take one for the team. The girls did really well. It got a bit hairy about half way. The girls wanted to rest and Steve wanted to keep moving so we could make it back to camp sometime. We decided to turn around and head back the way we came. We saw the girls attitude change immediately when they knew what the rest of the hike would be like. They were a little irritated that we weren't eating everything in the packs though.

Goblin Valley

We spent some time exploring Goblin Valley.

Abby liked to see how high she could climb.

Lindley loved sliding down the rocks. She tried to keep up with Emily and Abby which drove them crazy but was fun to watch.

My beautiful dirty little girls.

Emily is not a fan of climbing to high and dangerous places. Huh! I wonder where she gets that?

I scared myself a little with this little climb. It's the getting down that makes me a little nervous. Steve however is a "Mountain Goat" he definitely made it the highest. Too bad the picture didn't turn out so great.

Hayley thought she was pretty hot stuff climbing the baby one rocks.

My cute lil explorers.

One of the lizards we spotted.
